Lord Mayor's Day

November 9th. So called because the Lord Mayor of London enters office on that day, and inaugurates his official dignity with a procession through the City to the Royal Courts of Justice, followed by a banquet at the Guildhall at which it is the custom for the Prime Minister to make a political speech.
