Hero aad Leander

The old Greek tale is that Hero, a priestess of Venus, fell in love with Leander, who swam across the Hellespont every night to visit her. One night he was drowned, and heart-broken Hero drowned her- self in the same sea. The story is told in one of the poems of Museeus, and in Marlowe and Chapman's Hero and Leander.
