From time to time. See ANON. Ever-Victorious Army, The. A force of Chinese, officered by Europeans and Ameri- cans, raised in 1 861, and placed under the command of Gordon. See CHINESE GORDON. By 1864 it had stamped out the Taeping re- bellion, which had broken out in 1851.
